Online meeting dedicated to the memory of the outstanding Ukrainian poet Borys Chychybabin

After serving in the army for several years during the Second World War, he studied philosophy at Kharkiv University. In 1946, his studies were interrupted by an arrest.

Borys Oleksiyovych Chychybabin (9 January 1923, Kremenchuk - 15 December 1994, Kharkiv) lived in Ukraine almost all his life. After serving in the army for several years during the Second World War, he studied at the Kharkiv University's Faculty of Philology. In 1946, his studies were interrupted by an arrest. After 5 years of imprisonment in the Butyr prison and the Vyatlag camps, Chichibabin returned to Kharkiv, where he lived until his untimely death.

Today, decades later, his poetry finds a new response in the hearts of readers. Chichibabin's poems remain as relevant and deeply needed as they were 65 years ago, when he first became widely known.

The event is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of his death.
