This book of memoirs continues a series of publications of a biographical and documentary nature, dedicated to the resistance against the totalitarian regime in the USSR, which is carried out as part of a joint project of the Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group and “Folio” Publishing House. A.B. Litynsky (1914–2000) was a mechanical engineer, a teacher, and a front-line soldier who was sent to the camps merely for daring to write to the highest authorities about local instances of anti-Semitism, which led to violations of the law and the Constitution. The book is of undeniable interest, above all, as another living testimony to the history of the country from the time of the civil war to the present day.
